Market Attendant
Duties and Responsibilities

This position is mainly for attenting events, shows and popup markets representing Yours Truly. You would be setting up our booth to sell our products in booth outdoor and indoor settings. There is also some extra time available for packaging and labeling products at our main workshop/storefront in Valparaiso, IN if you'd like. 

Retail Associate / Cashier

• Smile and greet customers
• Positive attitude when assisting people shopping
• Answer customer questions and help with anything they might need
• Follow protocol of how to speak to customers and inform them of our products and practices
• Be available to assist other team members in workshop
• Operate cash drawer and Square POS (will be trained)

Packaging

• Gathering, arranging and organizing materials.
• Cleaning, organizing, and general maintenance of the department, tools, and equipment.
• Adhering to all safety practices and maintaining a safe workspace.
• Properly applying labels straight and precisely on products.
• Ability to work cohesively with a team in an upbeat and fast-paced fun environment.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures.
• Perform cleaning functions including dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, etc. of the work area.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Storing finished goods in proper inventory location.

About the Specific Role (How to Package)

• The most common task is placing our finished bath bombs into our biodegradable shrink film, sealing them with a heat sealer, shrinking them smooth with a heat gun, then applying a sticker label. You will be trained on this process.
• You would also be applying labels to products such as lip balms, sugar scrubs, lotions and more.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
• Have reliable transportation
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, twist and stoop, kneel or crouch.
• Previous sales experience appreciated, but not necessary.
• Bubbly, outgoing personality.
• Self starter and good work ethic.
• Ability to read, understand, and quickly act upon written documents, instructions, and orders.
• Ablity to multitask (ringing up a customer while answering a question from another individual, for example).
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Education Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent recommended; 

You must be at least 16 years old to apply. Students are encouraged to apply.

Pay: This is a commission based position. You will be paid 8% of total sales for the day. Average pay per day is from $80 to $350. The more product you sell, the more commission you receive!
**In case of a slow sales day, you will have a backup 'base rate' of $10 per hour, and will be paid whichever is higher.

Hours

• Almost always on Saturdays. Some events will also be Friday and/or Sunday. These tend to be larger shows with more revenue.

Work location: mostly in Indiana or just over the border in Michigan and Illinois. Normally a max drive of 1.5 hours, but a lot of shows are withing 45 minutes. We can travel up to 4-5 hours away if you'd like to participate in our larger shows.

Product Packager
Duties and Responsibilities

Work will be done in Valparaiso, Indiana.

This position is mainly for packaging and labeling products at our main workshop/storefront in Valparaiso, IN. We occasionally will get customers to come in the store, so in this role we will also show you how to assist them with a purchase and ring them up. This job is 90-95% workshop employee and 5-10% sales associate.

• Weekly and daily store upkeep which includes but is not limited to sweeping, cleaning restrooms, mopping, dusting, etc

• Attention to detail is a key part of this role.
• Ability to complete repetitive movements and tasks.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.

Hours

• Ideally, this role would be for 10am-4pm Wednesday through Saturday.
• More hours would be available during holiday season (October - December) and if you’d like additional roles making some of our more simple products, additional days during the week, or even attending events for us on the road at local markets.
• Part time hours are available, but must be in a minimum of 3 hours blocks.
